Biodiversity highlights of Fountainstown

We were delighted to guide a seashore walk with members of the Fountainstown community last Saturday. We looked at some of the plants and animals living on the rocky shore and then moved onto some saltmarsh and vegetated shingle. We all know how easy it is to overlook what is on our own doorstep, so it was a great opportunity to highlight some of the biodiversity in Fountainstown. This outreach event was funded by the Community Foundation Ireland as part of the Biodiversity Action Plan Grant. Thanks to Maren Hodder and Lisa Venner from the Fountainstown Community Association for organising the event and providing photographs.

Why not look out for these on your own seashore walk?
